Newcastle United have made it clear to Manchester United that full-back Lewis Hall is not available for purchase this summer, following the rejection of an initial approach. Manchester United are seeking to bolster their left-back position and have long been admirers of the 21-year-old England international. However, Newcastle rejected their enquiry two weeks ago and are instead looking to add another full-back to their roster.
Hall has a remaining three years on his current contract with Newcastle. Since March, Sky Sports News has reported that Hall was among the players being considered by Manchester United for a summer transfer as they seek a long-term replacement for Luke Shaw, who has one year left on his contract. Currently, Manchester United are heading into the new season with Shaw as their sole senior option at left-back, following the departure of Tyrell Malacia on a free transfer. Manchester United will continue to evaluate their options this summer as they aim to strengthen their team with an additional midfielder, which remains a possibility at this stage.
