Fresh from claiming the IBF middleweight title with a win over Etinosa Oliha at Dublin's 3Arena, newly crowned champion Aaron McKenna is setting his sights on total middleweight domination, seeking to emulate the success of boxing legends Canelo Alvarez and Gennadiy Golovkin. McKenna is calling out other titleholders, including Denzel Bentley, Carlos Adames, and Erislandy Lara, with the aim of unifying the division and proving his status as the world's best middleweight and super-middleweight.
"I'm ready for anyone, I've got a belt now and I'm easy to find. I want to collect all the belts in boxing, I believe I'm the best and I don't mind moving up in weight," McKenna stated in an interview with Sky Sports. He reflected on his journey, saying, "I've been thinking about this moment since I was six years old. It shows that with perseverance and staying true to yourself, you can achieve anything." McKenna's ambition is to revitalize the middleweight division, which he believes has been in decline since Golovkin and Canelo moved on.
"The division is there for the taking, it's been struggling for years. I said it before, I think I'm the one to take it over," he declared. He promises not to back down from any challenge, saying, "I'll fight anyone, I just want to unify the titles and prove I'm the best. That's what boxing is all about.
