Former England captain Nasser Hussain has called upon Harry Brook to showcase his maturity, following the announcement that Brook will not be taking on the Test captaincy. Despite his success as the England white-ball skipper, Brook was passed over in favor of veteran Joe Root.
Hussain expressed his disappointment, feeling that Brook has the potential to be a very good captain but is hindered by off-field antics and immaturity. England's managing director, Rob Key, confirmed that the decision to reappoint Root as Test captain was unrelated to Brook's workload.
Key stated that it was not the right time for Brook to take on the role, but expressed optimism about Brook's future and the team's prospects under new head coach Stephen Fleming.
