A suspected broken arm suffered by Maika Sivo has cast a shadow over Leeds Rhinos' 42-12 win against Bradford Bulls, a victory that propelled them two points clear at the top of the Super League. Sivo, who currently has 29 tries, had his hopes of breaking the season record of 40 tries, set by Denny Solomona in 2016, dealt a significant blow. According to Rhinos coach Brad Arthur, Sivo will require surgery to plate his forearm and is expected to be out for approximately six weeks. Despite the setback, Sivo should return before the end of the regular season.
The injury occurred during a tackle in Leeds' seven-try win at Headingley on Sunday. James McDonnell scored twice on his 100th Super League appearance, while Jarrod O'Connor, Tom Holroyd, Brodie Croft, Cooper Jenkins, and Kallum Watkins each scored one try.
Leeds bounced back from their 36-34 defeat to Castleford the previous week. Bradford, who have now lost six of their last seven top-flight matches, initially took the lead through Guy Armitage but ultimately fell short. The team's defeat has left them 12th in the standings with 12 points. Leeds, with 32 points from 20 games, now leads Wakefield Trinity and Wigan Warriors by two points.
