Mikey Lewis, a key player for Hull KR, has been handed a four-game suspension due to a late tackle and a headbutt in the team's 34-12 loss to Warrington Wolves on Saturday. Lewis was given a sin-bin for a tackle on Ewan Irwin, and it was also observed that he appeared to headbutt Adam Holroyd of Warrington, an incident that went unnoticed by the match officials.
On Monday, the Match Review Panel announced that Lewis would receive a one-game ban for the late tackle, classified as a Grade C late-contact penalty, and an additional three-game ban for the headbutt, which falls under the Grade E listing. This suspension comes at a time when the reigning champions have fallen out of the playoff spots, currently sitting two points behind St Helens Saints with eight games remaining in the Super League season.
As a result, Lewis will miss the upcoming Hull derby, as well as matches against Bradford Bulls, Castleford Tigers, and Catalans Dragons.
