Following her retirement, England cricket legend Katherine Sciver-Brunt has confirmed her first coaching role as an assistant coach for Trent Rockets Women in the upcoming 2026 edition of The Hundred. With an impressive 335 international wickets under her belt, Sciver-Brunt's career spanned three decades before her retirement. Recently, her record was surpassed by Sophie Ecclestone at Lord's.
Sciver-Brunt expressed her excitement about stepping back into cricket, stating, 'The time has come for me to step back into a role within cricket.' Having played for the Rockets between 2021 and 2023, she considered it the perfect opportunity to return as a coach. 'Trent Bridge is such a special place, and having been involved as a player with the Rockets before, coming back as a coach was an opportunity I just couldn't turn down,' she said.
Sciver-Brunt is eager to begin this new chapter, working alongside head coach Chris Read and fielding coach Graeme White. Her wife, England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt, was retained by the Nottingham-based side ahead of the season.
The couple welcomed their son Theo in March last year. The Rockets' first home match of the 2026 competition is set to take place at Trent Bridge on July 26, with The Hundred being broadcast live on Sky Sports from July 21 to August 16.
