In a thrilling finale to their Hundred match, Craig Overton emerged victorious in his personal duel with twin brother Jamie, guiding Trent Rockets to a four-wicket win over London Spirit with two balls to spare. The hosts required 10 runs from the last five deliveries, with Craig at the crease and Jamie bowling for the visitors.
Craig sealed the deal, earning bragging rights and four points for his team, by hitting a six over deep fine leg and then scoring successive twos to reach the target of 160. This impressive display followed an excellent 75 from Ben Duckett off 47 balls. Earlier, Craig had also made an impact with the ball, catching and bowling Jonny Bairstow for a duck and dismissing Lhuan-dré Pretorius for 24. Dewald Brevis top-scored for Spirit with 39 from 24 balls, while captain Liam Livingstone contributed 33 off 24 deliveries.
Meanwhile, Jos Buttler's 90 from 50 balls helped Manchester Super Giants crush Birmingham Phoenix by 87 runs, joining Welsh Fire in winning their first two matches. Buttler's knock, featuring seven fours and five sixes, was instrumental in Super Giants posting 187-5, with Phoenix managing only 100 in response. The victory backed up Super Giants' narrow seven-run win over Spirit at Lord's on Thursday, while Phoenix suffered their first loss after edging Rockets by 10 runs in a high-scoring clash at Edgbaston on Friday.
