Lewis was initially sin-binned for a tackle on Ewan Irwin, and further review revealed a headbutt on Adam Holroyd that went unnoticed by match officials. The Match Review Panel subsequently announced a one-game ban for the late-contact penalty and an additional three-game ban for the headbutt.
This suspension comes at a critical time, as the reigning champions have fallen out of playoff contention, now trailing St Helens Saints by two points with eight games remaining in the Super League season. As a result, Lewis will miss several key matches, including the Hull derby and games against Bradford Bulls, Castleford Tigers, and Catalans Dragons.
