Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was hospitalized after feeling unwell prior to the Manchester United vs Liverpool match on Sunday. The 84-year-old, a frequent attendee at the club's home and away games, had been at Old Trafford to watch the highly anticipated Premier League clash between the two rivals. During his 26-year tenure as United's manager from 1986 to 2013, Ferguson led the team to 13 Premier League titles and two Champions League victories. He later served as a club ambassador until 2025.
Throughout his illustrious career, Ferguson secured 38 trophies with United, as well as three Scottish league titles and four Scottish Cups with Aberdeen. He also managed St Mirren and Scotland, including the 1986 World Cup, following a playing career as a forward that saw him finish as the top scorer in the Scottish Division One in 1965/66.
Following Manchester United's 3-2 win over Liverpool, head coach Michael Carrick expressed his concern for his former boss, stating, 'I wish him the best. I'm very affected by the news, and I just hope he's alright.' No updates on Ferguson's condition were provided on Monday.
