Justin Rose is confident that his decision to switch to McLaren Golf clubs will not hinder his performance as he prepares to make his debut with the new equipment at the Cadillac Championship in Miami. Rose has partnered with the renowned Formula 1 team as they venture into the world of golf, with the official launch of the brand coinciding with the buildup to the Miami Grand Prix. Despite his recent success, including a third-place finish at The Masters and a win at the Farmers Insurance Open, Rose does not see his change of clubs as a gamble.
He believes that the new clubs, which he has been involved in developing, will provide him with a fantastic set of golf clubs. Rose stated, 'There are some best practices we have put into development which are giving me what I think are a fantastic set of golf clubs. There is going to be a refinement process [but] in the long term I don't see any issue at all.' He has been working with the project for over a year and is excited to finally launch it, feeling that the clubs are great. Meanwhile, Alex Fitzpatrick will also be competing at the Cadillac Championship, making his PGA Tour debut as a full member after his victory at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with his brother Matt.
Fitzpatrick had to cancel his plans to play in the DP World Tour's Turkish Airlines Open to make his debut, saying, 'It's been pretty wild. The biggest thing for me is to try and enjoy it. This is the first day of school for me, if you want to call it that.
I don't have a clue what's going on, I'm not going to lie to you.'
