American golfer Nelly Korda continues to dominate the Chevron Championship, holding a five-stroke lead heading into the final round despite a less impressive third round. Korda, who is chasing her third major title, had set a new tournament record for the first 36 holes with back-to-back scores of 65, giving her a six-stroke advantage.
However, she carded a 70 in the third round, narrowing her lead by one stroke. Thailand's Patty Tavatanakit is her closest competitor, sitting at 11 under after a round of 69.
China's Ruoning Yin had a strong third round with a score of 66, moving to 10 under but still six strokes behind Korda. English golfers Charley Hull and Lottie Woad improved in the third round but remain far behind.
Korda is on the verge of her second Chevron Championship title in three seasons, which would also propel her to the top of the world rankings. Reflecting on her third round, Korda noted a great start but a slowdown after missing a putt on the eighth hole. She plans to reset and hopes for a better performance in the final round.
