According to former world heavyweight champion David Haye, the time has come for Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury to put their differences aside and agree to a highly anticipated fight. As a two-weight world titlist and a star of British heavyweight boxing, Haye believes that this is the biggest and most significant fight that both boxers could possibly have, and that they should be actively pushing for it to happen.

Haye explained to Sky Sports, "They both need each other for their own legacies and for different reasons. They both need to prove that they battled it out to determine who was the better fighter, despite being from the same era." Both Fury and Joshua have recently suffered losses to Oleksandr Usyk, with Fury returning to boxing after a year-long break and Joshua recovering from a car accident. Although talks are ongoing for a potential fight between the two this year, with Joshua likely to have a warm-up bout first, Haye acknowledges that both fighters are past their prime.

However, he emphasizes that what matters most is that they are able to give the fans the fight they want to see, even if it's not at their physical peak. Haye notes that the potential earnings from the fight could be higher now than they would have been when it was first proposed, similar to the situation with Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. With Fury's recent 12 rounds with Arslanbek Makhmudov serving as a stepping stone, Haye believes that Fury is now ready for the big fight against Joshua, and that the fans are eager to see it happen.
