Bournemouth has officially announced the appointment of Marco Rose as the new manager, set to take over from Andoni Iraola when his contract expires. Rose will join the club on a three-year contract in the summer, allowing for a smooth transition and planning for the next season. Iraola had previously announced his departure after a three-year tenure as head coach.
The club had been working to secure a replacement, with Rose being the top target due to his similar footballing philosophy. Rose, 49, has previously managed RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Monchengladbach, and Red Bull Salzburg, and has been out of management since being sacked by RB Leipzig in March 2025.
The club stated that their immediate focus remains on finishing the current campaign strongly, with the players and staff committed to achieving positive results and building on their current 13-game unbeaten run. Rose's appointment has been praised, with many noting that his coaching style aligns with Iraola's, who had previously expressed admiration for Rose's work, particularly during his time at Borussia Monchengladbach.
