Red Bull has unveiled a series of key changes within its technical department, aimed at bolstering its commitment to innovation and performance. Ben Waterhouse, a veteran team member since 2017 and previously the head of performance engineering, will assume an expanded leadership role as chief performance and design engineer. Waterhouse will oversee design and vehicle performance, fostering greater integration between these areas to accelerate the development of high-performing solutions, according to Red Bull.
He will report directly to Technical Director Pierre Wache. Meanwhile, Andrea Landi is set to join the team from Racing Bulls on July 1, taking on the role of head of performance.
Landi, who has previously worked with Ferrari as deputy head of vehicle performance, will report to Waterhouse. These strategic moves are part of Red Bull's long-term technical strategy, reflecting the team's dedication to nurturing internal talent while attracting top expertise from across the sport.
The team has faced a challenging start to the new era of F1 regulations, currently sitting sixth in the Constructors' Championship. Following a string of key staff departures to rival teams, Red Bull aims to reinvigorate its technical department.
The Miami Grand Prix, the season's second Sprint weekend, is set to take place on May 1-3, live on Sky Sports F1.
