Former Formula 1 world champion Nigel Mansell believes Lewis Hamilton has regained his competitive edge this season. The 41-year-old has also shown significant improvement in pace compared to his teammate Charles Leclerc. According to Mansell, the new regulations seem to favor Hamilton's driving style, and he doesn't rule out the possibility of Hamilton winning a race this season.
Mansell praised Hamilton, stating, 'Lewis is fired up again. He's had a brilliant career, and it's fantastic what he's doing.' Hamilton attributed his return to form to better mental and physical preparation.
When he joined Ferrari last year, the car wasn't tailored to his driving style, but this year's new car has given him a fresh start. Hamilton worked closely with the engineers and simulator, pushing for specific changes that have been incorporated into this year's car. Mansell, who was involved in several title fights during his career, thinks this year's F1 Drivers' Championship could become a two-horse race between Mercedes drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli. Mansell advises Russell to use his experience to win the intra-team battle, saying, 'George is a great driver.
