Alycia Baumgardner believes Caroline Dubois must continue to establish herself as a champion before a potential fight between the two can take place. Baumgardner is set to defend her unified WBA, WBO, and IBF super-featherweight world titles against Bo Mi Re Shin. Following her recent victory over Terri Harper, Dubois expressed interest in facing Baumgardner, but the American insists Dubois needs to do more to build her reputation.
Baumgardner suggests that Dubois should focus on becoming undisputed at 135lbs before calling her out. Meanwhile, Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promoters, recommends that Dubois should first clean up the lightweight division before pursuing a fight with Baumgardner.
Alternatively, Baumgardner could face Caroline Veyre, the WBC belt-holder at 130lbs, in a bid to become the undisputed champion at super-featherweight once again.
