Conor Benn has stated that his primary focus is on securing a WBC title fight against Ryan Garcia, but he has warned Garcia that other prominent fighters are now eager to face him. Benn recently signed a multi-year, multi-fight deal with Zuffa Boxing and successfully defeated Regis Prograis in his debut for the promotional company.
As the mandatory challenger for Garcia's WBC welterweight title, Benn believes he has multiple options and is not limited to just one opponent. 'Of course, the Garcia fight is a priority, but I have plenty of other options,' Benn said. 'There are many fighters calling me out, and if Ryan doesn't want the fight, there are plenty of other opportunities available.' Benn's victory over Prograis has drawn attention from other fighters, with many now expressing interest in facing him. He noted that after his rematch win over Chris Eubank Jr, there was little interest in fighting him, but his recent performance has changed that.
'It's funny how all these fighters are now calling me out after my win over Prograis,' Benn said. 'Maybe it's a blessing that I went the distance with Regis, as it has shown my capabilities and drawn more attention to me.' Zuffa Boxing head Dana White is open to making a fight between Benn and Garcia, stating that he aims to create the biggest and most exciting fights possible. With Benn's signing and the recent acquisition of Chris Billam-Smith, White is looking to recruit more top UK talent to the promotion.
