Bryson DeChambeau has pulled out of the LIV Golf Mexico City tournament before the final round due to a wrist injury. DeChambeau, a two-time winner on the LIV Golf tour this season, was 16 strokes behind leader Jon Rahm. He stated, "I felt discomfort in my wrist during Saturday's round and have decided to withdraw to avoid further injury. I'm disappointed with how this week went, but I wish my team a strong finish." DeChambeau won events in Singapore and South Africa earlier in the season.
Mexico's Luis Carrera replaced DeChambeau for the final round. DeChambeau's withdrawal comes amidst uncertainty surrounding the LIV Golf League's future, following reports that the Saudi Public Investment Fund may end its financial support.
LIV Golf CEO Scott O'Neil said the league is funded for the season and will work to secure its future. The next LIV Golf event is scheduled for May 7-10 in Washington DC.
