Elena Rybakina secured her spot in the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix final by defeating 18-year-old Mirra Andreeva 7-5, 6-1 in Stuttgart on Saturday. Rybakina, the 2026 Australian Open champion, will face Karolina Muchova in Sunday's final, broadcast live on Sky Sports Tennis from midday. The match was closely contested, with both players exchanging breaks in the first set before Rybakina's experience gave her the edge, allowing her to take a 1-0 lead. Rybakina then dominated the second set, winning the first five games and ultimately claiming a composed victory.
"It feels great, I'm really happy," Rybakina said. "I missed this tournament last year, so I'm glad to have made it to the final." Despite having a late night on Friday after her quarter-final match against Leylah Fernandez lasted over three hours, Rybakina was pleased with her performance. "I'm happy with how I played after a three-hour match yesterday," she said. Rybakina revealed that she didn't go to bed until 2am on Friday night but was able to sleep in and prepare for the semi-final.
"I will try to do my best and give all my energy tomorrow," she added. In other tennis news, Flavio Cobolli defeated world No 3 Alexander Zverev 6-3, 6-3 to secure his spot in the ATP 500 Munich final.
Cobolli fired 32 winners and lost just eight points on his first serve to move past Zverev, the defending champion. The 23-year-old Italian will play Ben Shelton in Sunday's final, live on Sky Sports Tennis from 2pm. "It was one of my best matches ever, against one of my best friends on Tour," Cobolli said.
"I think I played one of my best matches, and I'm really happy about my performance." Cobolli's victory makes him the third player this season to reach ATP Tour finals on both clay and hard courts. He also moves up to 12th in the live ATP rankings as he pursues his fourth ATP Tour title and third at ATP 500 level.
