Abraham's Late Strike Seals Dramatic Villa Win After Stunning Collapse

Aston Villa secured a thrilling 4-3 victory over Sunderland, thanks to Tammy Abraham's 94th-minute winner, which came after a stunning two-goal collapse had erased their two-goal lead in just 58 seconds. Villa had seemed set for a comfortable win, leading 3-1 with four minutes remaining, courtesy of two goals from Ollie Watkins and one from Morgan Rogers. However, Sunderland struck back through Trai Hume and Enzo Le Fee, with the latter's goal coming just seconds after the restart, to level the match at 3-3. Despite Habib Diarra missing a chance to complete the turnaround for Sunderland, Villa regained their composure and Abraham's late goal sealed the win. The victory keeps Villa on track for Champions League qualification, while Sunderland's European hopes suffered a setback. Aston Villa captain John McGinn praised his team's reaction to the collapse, saying, 'We were in control and had chances to go four or five up. We have to manage the game better.' Head coach Unai Emery added, 'The Premier League is very difficult, to beat Sunderland - they had the opportunity and still do to be in the race for Europe.' Sunderland head coach Regis Le Bris expressed disappointment at the outcome, saying, 'We felt the power and strength of Aston Villa today, they created many chances.'
