Kap Vert Secures Scottish National Gold for Hobbs and White
In a thrilling Coral Scottish Grand National, Kap Vert, trained by Philip Hobbs and owned by Johnson White, dominated the competition, crossing the finish line ahead of Git Maker and Kim Roque. Under the skilled guidance of Sean Houlihan, the six-year-old Kap Vert demonstrated impressive form, navigating the fences with ease despite his limited experience. Meanwhile, Midlands National winner Isaac Des Obeaux and Git Maker both suffered significant setbacks due to jumping errors, with Git Maker almost unseating Jonathan Burke. However, Git Maker managed to recover and secure a second-place finish, narrowly beating the 4-1 favorite Kim Roque. This victory served as a welcome consolation for Hobbs and White, who had earlier finished second in the Scottish Champion Hurdle with Captain Hugo. The £112,000 first prize was a substantial reward for their efforts, making the trip back to Somerset a triumphant one.
