American boxer Alycia Baumgardner believes that Caroline Dubois needs to further establish herself as a champion before she will consider a fight against the unified lightweight world champion. Baumgardner is set to defend her unified WBA, WBO, and IBF super-featherweight world titles against Bo Mi Re Shin.
Following her recent victory over Terri Harper, Dubois called out Baumgardner, but the American is not convinced that Dubois has done enough to warrant a high-profile fight. Baumgardner thinks that Dubois should focus on becoming undisputed at 135lbs and putting on more impressive shows before calling her out. Meanwhile, Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promoters, suggests that Dubois should clean up the division first before pursuing a fight against Baumgardner. Bidarian also expressed interest in a potential fight between Shadasia Green and Claressa Shields, should Green emerge victorious against Lani Daniels.
