Joel Tomkins Leaves Catalans Dragons Due to Personal Circumstances

Joel Tomkins has announced his decision to resign as head coach of Catalans Dragons, a position he held for nearly a year, citing personal reasons. The former England rugby league and union international found it challenging to be away from his family and made the decision to leave after a recent period at home. Tomkins initially took on the role as an interim coach but was later appointed permanently. He expressed his gratitude for the experiences and friendships gained during his time at the club, stating that he has learned a great deal and leaves as a better coach. However, the prolonged separation from his family proved difficult, leading to his decision to step down. Tomkins will be replaced by Ryan Sheridan, alongside assistant coaches Micky McIlorum and Mitchell Pearce, as interim head coach for the side's next game against Warrington Wolves.
