Manchester United's Harry Maguire to Serve Additional One-Game Suspension

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire will be absent from the team's upcoming match against Chelsea due to an additional one-match ban imposed for misconduct. An independent regulatory commission charged Maguire with acting in an improper manner following his red card against Bournemouth on March 20. Maguire had reacted to being sent off for denying a goalscoring opportunity by pushing Bournemouth's Evanilson, after which Eli Junior Kroupi scored from the spot to equalize. He has already served a suspension for the red card, missing the 2-1 defeat to Leeds, and will now miss the Chelsea match. Maguire admitted to the offense and was fined £30,000. The FA's written reasons stated that fourth official Matt Donohue claimed Maguire insulted him as he left the field, although Maguire disputed this. Manchester United will be without both Maguire and Lisandro Martinez for the Chelsea match, as Martinez was also sent off during the Leeds match. This leaves the team with limited centre-back options, including Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven, who have shown inexperience this season. Other potential options for the team include Luke Shaw, Casemiro, or delving into the youth ranks to find a suitable replacement.
