In a bid to enhance its performance and innovation, Red Bull has unveiled a series of changes to its technical department. Ben Waterhouse, who has been with the team since 2017 as head of performance engineering, will take on an expanded leadership role as chief performance and design engineer, reporting to technical director Pierre Wache.
This move aims to strengthen the integration between design and vehicle performance, thereby accelerating the development of competitive solutions. Additionally, Andrea Landi will join the team from Racing Bulls on July 1 as head of performance, bringing with him experience from his previous roles, including deputy technical director at Racing Bulls and deputy head of vehicle performance at Ferrari.
Landi will report to Waterhouse. These changes are part of the team's long-term technical strategy, focusing on developing internal talent and attracting leading expertise from the sport. The team has faced a challenging start to the new era of F1 regulations, currently sitting sixth in the Constructors' Championship, and has seen several key staff members leave for rival teams in recent years.
The Miami Grand Prix, the season's second Sprint weekend, is set to take place on May 1-3, live on Sky Sports F1.
