Charlton Athletic have edged closer to securing their Championship status after a 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday. The Addicks took the lead in the 49th minute through Matty Godden's goal, but Gabriel Otegbayo equalized for the Owls in the 76th minute.
The draw sees Charlton move six points clear of the relegation zone with just three games remaining, while Wednesday are now unbeaten in their last three games. Charlton had several chances to take the lead, with Godden heading wide and Sonny Carey striking the post.
Wednesday, on the other hand, found the equalizer when Otegbayo tapped the ball into an empty net after Charlton keeper Will Mannion failed to hold on to a cross. They may have had most of the possession but we coped with it well and we got to grips with it in the second half. We had all the big chances in the game.'
