Bournemouth has finalized an agreement to appoint Marco Rose as the successor to Andoni Iraola. Although Rose will formally take over in the summer, the deal allows both the new head coach and the club to prepare for the upcoming season, following Iraola's announcement that he would be leaving the club when his contract expires. Iraola revealed his decision to depart on Tuesday, bringing an end to his three-year tenure at the Cherries.

Sky Sports News reported that Rose, the former RB Leipzig boss, was the top candidate to replace Iraola due to their shared footballing philosophy and playing style. The 49-year-old has been out of management since being dismissed by RB Leipzig in March 2025.

With Rose's appointment, the club is working on completing his paperwork and work visa, and discussions are underway regarding the composition of his backroom team. Rose's experience in winning silverware and competing in the Champions League makes him an ideal fit for Bournemouth's pursuit of trophies and European competition. His footballing philosophy, which emphasizes 'emotion, hunger, and being active,' aligns with the club's vision.

According to Rose, his playing style involves being 'very active against the ball, sprinting a lot, winning high balls, and having short ways to the goal,' with a focus on fast, dynamic, and active forward play.
