Joel Tomkins Leaves Catalans Dragons Due to Personal Circumstances

Joel Tomkins has announced his departure from Catalans Dragons, citing personal reasons for his decision to step down as head coach after nearly a year in the role. The former England international found the time away from his family to be a significant challenge, and after a recent period back home, he decided to leave the club. Tomkins initially took on the role as an interim coach following Steve McNamara's exit but was later appointed to the position permanently. Despite the challenges, Tomkins expressed his gratitude for the experience and the friendships he formed during his time at the club. He acknowledged that living away from his family for an extended period had been difficult and, after spending time back at home, decided it was time to bring his tenure at the club to a close. Tomkins will be replaced by Ryan Sheridan, who will take over as interim head coach alongside assistant coaches Micky McIlorum and Mitchell Pearce, starting with the team's next game against Warrington Wolves on April 18.
