Baumgardner Sets Sights on Taylor, Serrano, and Mayer
Alycia Baumgardner is on the hunt for the sport's most prominent names. The reigning unified super-featherweight champion has Katie Taylor, Amanda Serrano, and Mikaela Mayer in her crosshairs. 'Those are all three fantastic fights. Let's make them happen,' Baumgardner stated. For the American boxer, these opponents take precedence over Britain's unified lightweight world champion Caroline Dubois. 'I'm pursuing the biggest fights. Dubois isn't ready yet. Is she eager? Absolutely. Am I avoiding her? No. I'm focused on the most significant fights possible, and that bout will occur when the time is right,' Baumgardner said. Before targeting these fighters, Baumgardner will first defend her WBA, WBO, and IBF super-featherweight titles against Bo Mi Re Shin at the Madison Square Garden Theater in New York, live on Sky Sports. 'One thing about Bo is that she's coming to fight. She's a warrior, just like I know she is. But I'm hungrier, meaner, and sharper,' Baumgardner said. Shin, however, plans to derail Baumgardner's plans. 'Alycia was my goal. She has always been, but now it's time for me to take her belts,' Shin said. 'I have great respect for Baumgardner. She has a great boxing style. She's a strong fighter, but I believe I have more perseverance, and I will show you.'
