Emerging Talent Shines at England Boxing National Amateur Championships

The England Boxing National Amateur Championships recently concluded, showcasing the country's future boxing stars. Ruby White, a World U19 champion and four-time European age group champion, made history by winning her first senior national title in the flyweight category. White defeated Madi Gittens of Box Club via unanimous decision, extending her unbeaten streak to over 60 contests. 'I'm thrilled to have proved my doubters wrong,' White said. 'The transition from youth to senior level is significant, but I've demonstrated that I belong on the big stage.' White attributes her success to her unwavering dedication and unrelenting passion for the sport. 'I train harder than anyone, and my desire to be the best drives me to push beyond my limits,' she added. Billy Macey became a two-time national champion in the men's flyweight division, while Adekali Kargbo dethroned reigning 90kg champion Akinola Tijani. Clinton Achusim secured the super-heavyweight title, and Repton's Amo Singh won the 65kg title. GB boxer Joe Turner prevailed in the 62.5kg final, stating, 'I was born for moments like these, and I'm confident that I'll become a world champion in the professional ranks.' The GB squad is set to compete in the World Boxing Cup event in Brazil, featuring boxers such as Sacha Hickey, Lauren Mackie, and Chantelle Reid. The men's line-up includes Ellis Trowbridge, Will Hewitt, and Teagn Stott, who will be competing in the heavyweight division for the third time.
