Joel Tomkins Leaves Catalans Dragons Due to Personal Circumstances

Joel Tomkins has announced his resignation as head coach of Catalans Dragons, a position he held for nearly a year, citing personal reasons. The former England rugby league and union international found it challenging to be away from his family and decided to step down after a recent break at home. Tomkins initially took on the role as an interim coach but was later appointed permanently. He expressed gratitude for the experience and friendships formed during his time at the club, stating that he has grown both personally and professionally. However, the prolonged separation from his family proved difficult, leading to his decision to leave the club. Tomkins will be replaced by Ryan Sheridan, who will serve as interim head coach alongside assistants Micky McIlorum and Mitchell Pearce, starting with the upcoming game against Warrington Wolves on April 18.
