Haye: Fury and Joshua Need Each Other for Legacy Fight

Former world heavyweight champion David Haye emphasizes that Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury must come to an agreement to fight each other. As a two-weight world titlist and a star in British heavyweight boxing before Joshua and Fury rose to fame, Haye believes the time is now for the two boxers to finally face off in the ring. Haye expressed to Sky Sports, 'This is the biggest fight they could possibly have, and they should be pushing for it.' He added, 'They both need each other to cement their legacies and to prove who is the better fighter.' Both Fury and Joshua have lost their world titles to Oleksandr Usyk, with Fury recently returning to boxing after a year-long break and Joshua recovering from a car accident. Talks are ongoing for the two to fight this year, with Joshua likely to participate in a warm-up bout first. Haye acknowledges that both boxers are past their prime but believes the fight can still be a commercial success, similar to the Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao fight. He also thinks that Fury's recent 12 rounds with Arslanbek Makhmudov have prepared him for the fight against Joshua, calling it 'a nice stepping stone to the big one.'
