The Leopards seemed poised for only their second Betfred Super League victory of the season, having led 20-0, but Toulouse staged an impressive comeback to force extra time with a last-minute penalty. However, O'Brien remained composed in front of the posts, securing a much-needed win for the hosts just three minutes into the first added period. Leigh dominated the opening 20 minutes, with Josh Charnley scoring twice and Innes Senior's acrobatic effort resulting in a try in the opposite corner. Liam Horne then broke through the middle for a try under the posts, but Toulouse gained hope for the second half when Romeo Tropis scored in the 37th minute. A great pass from Olly Ashall-Bott sent Benjamin Laguerre over 10 minutes after the break, and the gap narrowed to two points when Laguerre drove over again shortly after Ryan Brown was sin-binned for Leigh. Brendan Hands was denied a try for offside, but Toulouse forced extra time when Jake Shorrocks calmly slotted over an 80th-minute penalty. Although the visitors seemed to have momentum, Leigh showed bravery on the restart and earned their reward. The try just before half-time gave them hope and momentum, and the whole second half was theirs. We're grateful to have gotten through in the end. It was a much-needed win." In contrast, Toulouse's Sylvain Houles admitted, "It's tough to accept. We gave them a 20-point head start. This is the third time it's happened, and we can't be happy with that. It's a shame because the boys found the energy to get back into the game. I'm disappointed for them."
