Katie Taylor, an Olympic gold medalist and undisputed two-weight champion, is set to retire after one final fight, and Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) is in the running to provide her opponent. MVP has previously staged Taylor's last two contests against Amanda Serrano. With the strongest roster in women's boxing, MVP may have the ideal opponent for Taylor's swan song. Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of MVP, has suggested Caroline Dubois as a potential opponent for Taylor's final fight.
Alternatively, the winner of the upcoming WBA lightweight title fight between Holly Holm and Stephanie Han could also be a suitable match. Bidarian envisions a scenario where the winner of Holm and Han's fight could face Taylor in her last bout, calling it a 'logical' choice.
He also praised Stephanie Han, a mother and full-time police officer, for her remarkable story and background. Bidarian aims to collaborate with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing, which represents Taylor, to stage the event at Croke Park. Hearn has ruled out Taylor boxing on the undercard of the potential Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua fight, also rumored to take place at Croke Park.
Instead, Hearn is focused on moving forward with Taylor's final fight, with or without a finalized opponent, and is set to discuss plans further.
