Joel Tomkins, the head coach of Catalans Dragons, has announced his decision to leave the role due to personal reasons, having held the position for nearly a year. Tomkins, a former England rugby league and union international, cited the challenges of being away from his family as a key factor in his decision. After a brief period back home, he made the choice to depart the club, which currently sits sixth in the Super League table. Tomkins initially took on the role as an interim coach but was later appointed permanently. He expressed his gratitude to the players, staff, and supporters, wishing the club success for the remainder of the season and beyond. Tomkins' departure comes after he was absent from the club's last three fixtures, sparking speculation about his future. Ryan Sheridan will take over as interim head coach, alongside assistant coaches Micky McIlorum and Mitchell Pearce, for the side's next game against Warrington Wolves on April 18.
