Kap Vert Secures Scottish National Gold for Hobbs and White

In a remarkable display, Kap Vert, trained by Philip Hobbs and owned by Johnson White, dominated the Coral Scottish Grand National, surpassing Git Maker and Kim Roque to claim the top prize. Under the skilled guidance of Sean Houlihan, the six-year-old demonstrated impressive stamina and jumping prowess, despite being in only his fifth run over fences. Meanwhile, Midlands National winner Isaac Des Obeaux and Git Maker experienced notable setbacks due to jumping errors, with the latter almost losing his rider but managing to recover and finish second. This victory brought significant consolation to Hobbs and White, who had earlier finished second in the Scottish Champion Hurdle with Captain Hugo, and they took home the substantial £112,000 first prize.
