Joel Tomkins Leaves Catalans Dragons Due to Personal Circumstances

Joel Tomkins has announced his departure from Catalans Dragons, citing personal reasons for his decision to step down as head coach. Having held the position for nearly a year, Tomkins revealed that being away from his family had taken a toll, and after a recent period at home, he decided it was time to leave the club. Initially appointed as an interim coach following Steve McNamara's exit, Tomkins was later given the permanent role, which he held for seven games into the current Super League season. In a statement, Tomkins expressed his gratitude for the experience and friendships forged during his time at the club, acknowledging that he has grown both personally and professionally. However, the challenge of living apart from his family for an extended period ultimately led to his decision to step away. Tomkins will be succeeded by Ryan Sheridan, who will take over as interim head coach alongside assistants Micky McIlorum and Mitchell Pearce, starting with the upcoming game against Warrington Wolves on April 18.
