Itoje Backs Borthwick to Lead England to Greatness

Maro Itoje has expressed his confidence in Steve Borthwick, stating that England is capable of achieving remarkable success under his guidance, despite a disappointing Six Nations performance. England's campaign was marred by four consecutive losses, including a historic defeat to Italy, resulting in a fifth-place finish. However, RFU chief executive Bill Sweeney has indicated that Borthwick will be given the opportunity to lead the team in the upcoming Nations Championship. Itoje acknowledges that England failed to meet expectations, but believes in Borthwick and his coaching staff's ability to turn things around. "We have faith in our approach," Itoje said. "Steve, along with his coaching team, is exceptional. We need to come together, learn from our mistakes, and move forward positively. Although our Six Nations campaign was not as successful as we had hoped, my belief in this team remains unwavering. I firmly believe that this England team will go on to accomplish great things; we just need to learn from our lessons and move forward."
