Norris Unveils McLaren's Strategy to Reclaim Title

Lando Norris is confident that McLaren can still mount a strong title defense despite a slow start to the season. The reigning champion believes the team can turn things around, citing previous examples where they have overcome early struggles to finish the season in a stronger position. With almost five weeks to work on their cars, Norris is optimistic about their chances, saying 'this isn't a case of giving up' and that the team is 'ready for it.' Norris trails early championship leader Kimi Antonelli by 47 points but is focused on pushing hard for the championship. He acknowledges that ensuring the reliability of their car and Mercedes power unit is a key area of focus. Team-mate Oscar Piastri also expressed confidence in the team's ability to get into regular victory contention over the remaining 19 races. Piastri said, 'We have a lot of work to do to be back at the front consistently, but closing the gap to Mercedes and out-developing the field is something that's within our control.' The team is using the break between Japan and Miami to work on their understanding of the car and power unit, with Norris saying 'time behind the wheel is certainly never going to hurt.'
