Emma Raducanu Pulls Out of Madrid Open Due to Ongoing Recovery

Emma Raducanu has pulled out of the upcoming Madrid Open, citing her ongoing recovery from illness as the reason. The British No 1 has also withdrawn from recent WTA Tour events in Miami and Linz, prioritizing her rehabilitation. Raducanu, who last competed in the third round at Indian Wells in early March, is currently back in training and hopes to return to action at the Rome tournament in May. Her decision to withdraw from the Madrid Open follows a string of other high-profile pullouts, including Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic. Raducanu has been working informally with coach Mark Petchey since parting ways with Francisco Roig in January and is looking to regain her form ahead of the French Open. The Italian Open, set to begin on May 5, will be her next opportunity to compete on clay.
