Augusta National Masters Leaderboard: Final Results
The final standings from the Masters, the first major golf tournament of the year, are in. Held at Augusta National in Georgia, the competition saw Rory McIlroy successfully defend his title. McIlroy made history by becoming the first player to achieve this feat since Tiger Woods. He finished one stroke ahead of Scottie Scheffler, who was the pre-tournament favorite despite not having a top 10 finish in his last three PGA Tour starts. Tyrrell Hatton, Justin Rose, Cameron Young, and Russell Henley tied for third place. The top 10 was rounded out by Collin Morikawa, Sam Burns, Max Homa, and Xander Schauffele. Patrick Reed and Shane Lowry had disappointing final rounds, finishing five under and slipping out of contention, respectively. The Masters is the first of four major golf tournaments in as many months, followed by the PGA Championship, US Open, and The Open. The PGA Tour will next head to Hilton Head Island in South Carolina for the RBC Heritage, where Justin Thomas will defend his title. The tournament will be broadcast on Sky Sports Golf, with early coverage starting on Thursday.
