Maro Itoje has expressed his confidence in Steve Borthwick, stating that England is capable of achieving remarkable success under his guidance, despite a disappointing Six Nations campaign. England's poor performance saw them finish fifth, with four consecutive losses, including a historic defeat to Italy.
However, RFU chief executive Bill Sweeney has indicated that Borthwick will be given the opportunity to redeem himself during the upcoming Nations Championship. Itoje acknowledges that England failed to meet expectations, but believes that Borthwick and his coaching staff can reverse the team's fortunes. "We have faith in our approach," Itoje said, praising Borthwick and his staff.
"We need to come together as a team, learn from our mistakes, and move forward positively. Although we didn't achieve the desired results, my conviction in this England team remains unwavering. I firmly believe that we will accomplish great things, once we learn from our errors and progress."
