A stunning late goal from Cameron Archer sealed a 2-1 comeback win for Southampton at Swansea, extending their remarkable winning streak to seven successive Championship victories. The Saints substitute scored a superb volley in the 90th minute to propel Tonda Eckert's men to within a point of second-placed Millwall. The victory marked Southampton's eighth consecutive win in all competitions, following their recent FA Cup triumph over Arsenal.
Swansea, who took the lead through Marko Stamenic's 20th-minute goal, dropped to 15th place. The hosts' bright start was rewarded with Stamenic's goal, which came from a deep cross by Eom Ji-sung and a header back across goal by Zan Vipotnik.
Ben Cabango was unable to turn the ball in, but Stamenic capitalized to score his third goal of the season. The match ignited, with yellow cards being issued to Goncalo Franco and Melker Widell of Swansea, as well as Flynn Downes of Southampton, before the interval.
