Kap Vert Secures Scottish National Gold for Hobbs and White

In a thrilling Coral Scottish Grand National, Kap Vert, trained by Philip Hobbs and owned by Johnson White, demonstrated exceptional form, beating out Git Maker and Kim Roque to take the top prize. Under the skilled guidance of Sean Houlihan, the six-year-old Kap Vert showed remarkable strength and endurance, navigating the challenging course with ease. Despite being relatively inexperienced, having only his fifth run over fences, Kap Vert's jumping skills were impressive. Meanwhile, Midlands National winner Isaac Des Obeaux and Git Maker both experienced difficulties, with Isaac Des Obeaux fading into fourth after a mistake and Git Maker almost losing his rider, Jonathan Burke, before rallying to finish second. Hobbs and White's victory was a significant consolation after finishing second in the Scottish Champion Hurdle with Captain Hugo earlier in the day, securing a substantial £112,000 first prize.
