Former two-weight world champion David Haye believes it's high time for Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury to put their differences aside and step into the ring together. According to Haye, this highly anticipated bout is essential for both fighters to cement their legacies. Haye, who was a prominent figure in British heavyweight boxing before the rise of Joshua and Fury, is adamant that the time has come for them to face each other. "This is the biggest fight they can have, and they should be pushing for it.

For their own legacies, they need each other," Haye explained to Sky Sports. Both Fury and Joshua have recently lost their world titles to Oleksandr Usyk. Fury has returned to boxing after a year-long hiatus, while Joshua is resuming training after recovering from a car accident that claimed the lives of two of his close friends. There are ongoing discussions for Fury and Joshua to fight later this year, with Joshua likely to have a warm-up bout first.

Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, revealed that they have received a contract for the Fury fight, which is currently under discussion. Haye acknowledges that both fighters may be past their prime, but he emphasizes that what matters most is that they will finally be facing each other.

"They may not have fought in their prime, but at least we'll get to see it now. It's similar to the Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao fight, which didn't happen in their prime but still took place at their commercial peak. Perhaps this is their commercial peak, and they might earn more now than they would have initially," Haye said.

Fury's recent 12-round fight with Arslanbek Makhmudov could be the perfect preparation for his upcoming bout with Joshua. "It's a great stepping stone to the big one, which is Anthony Joshua," Haye stated. "From Fury's perspective, he's chosen an opponent with similar dimensions to Joshua - someone big, strong, and not too slick in terms of head movement, with a vertical arm defense similar to AJ's.

Fury believes he still has what it takes to beat Joshua, and that's a massive fight the fans are eager to see."
