Manchester United's interim manager, Michael Carrick, has stated that no decision has been made regarding Marcus Rashford's future at the club. The 25-year-old forward is currently on loan at Barcelona, with a £26m option to buy clause in his contract. However, reports suggest that Barcelona are hesitant to make the deal permanent at that price.
When asked about the possibility of Rashford returning to Manchester United, Carrick did not rule it out. 'There are decisions to be made in time on certain things. Marcus is in that situation,' he said.
Rashford has scored 12 goals and assisted 13 in 43 appearances for Barcelona but has faced criticism for his recent performances. Manchester United are reportedly confident that they could receive a higher fee for Rashford from another club if Barcelona refuse to pay the agreed-upon price. Carrick also discussed the possibility of strengthening the left-wing position, revealing that there have been conversations about recruitment.
The club is expected to bolster their options ahead of a likely return to European competition next season, with RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande and Everton's Iliman Ndiaye reported to be among the targets.
