Hollie Doyle: Zavateri Stands Out in the Greenham Stakes

This Saturday promises to be an exciting day of racing, with several top events taking place. I have a busy schedule ahead, starting with a trip to Thirsk to ride two young horses from Archie Watson's Lambourn base. First up is NIEWIADOMA, a two-year-old filly making her debut in the British EBF Fillies' Novice Stakes. I have had the pleasure of riding her several times in preparation and have been impressed by her natural speed and lovely attitude. The competition is tough, with five other debutantes in the field, including Karl Burke's daughter of Blue Point, Bai Tong. Despite the uncertainty, I am happy with NIEWIADOMA's progress and look forward to seeing how she performs. Later in the day, I will be riding MERLIER in the Stirrup Bar For Deli-Style Dinning Packages Handicap. This will be his first outing on turf, having previously performed well on the All-Weather. He has earned an opening rating of 85, which seems fair, and I am excited to see how he adapts to the new surface. One of the highlights of the day is the Watership Down Stud Too Darn Hot Greenham Stakes at Newbury, where ZAVATERI is set to face off against Albert Einstein. ZAVATERI has shown impressive form, including a win in the Group 1 National Stakes in Ireland, and I believe he has a strong chance of coming out on top. In other races, I will be riding WARM SPELL in the Join Racing TV Today Handicap, IDYLLIC in the Happy 21st Birthday Lily Watkinson Handicap, and SOLAR BIRICZ in the Nick Simpson Cannot Be 60 Handicap. Each of these horses has their own strengths and weaknesses, and I am looking forward to seeing how they perform. The Dubai Duty Free Stakes, also known as the Fred Darling, is another exciting event, with several fillies holding similar prospects. I think Shadwell's TOULEEN has a good chance, although she will need to be at her best to win. The Spring Cup Handicap is another notable race, with URBAN LION looking to build on his win in the Lincoln. I expect him to put in a strong performance, and he may be joined in the winners' circle by Simon and Ed Crisford's Shout. Finally, I am hoping to see Al AASY win the Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise Stakes for Tom Marquand and William Haggas. This gallant nine-year-old loves the track and can keep the likely favourite, Convergent, on his toes.
