English golfer Matt Fitzpatrick has taken the lead at the RBC Heritage after the second round, carding an impressive eight-under-par 63. His round included eight birdies, with a notable 36-foot putt on the 15th hole, all without a single bogey at Hilton Head.
Fitzpatrick, the 2022 US Open champion, started the day in a six-way tie for third after his opening round of 65. He now leads the leaderboard at 14 under par, one stroke ahead of Norway's Viktor Hovland, who secured a second-round score of 65 to retain his second-place position. Overnight leader Ludvig Aberg fell to a joint-fourth position after encountering three bogeys on the back nine. Scotland's Robert MacIntyre trails Fitzpatrick by six shots after a round of 68, while the world's number one golfer, Scottie Scheffler, is seven shots behind the leader after carding a 67.
