Andreeva Secures Spot in Linz Final Against Potapova

Mirra Andreeva has booked her place in her second WTA Tour final of the year after defeating Elena-Gabriela Ruse 6-4, 6-1 in the Linz Open semi-finals. Andreeva, the top seed, made a strong start by breaking Ruse's serve in the opening game, but then struggled with back-to-back breaks on her own serve. However, she regained her composure to break Ruse to love in the eighth game and went on to take the set 6-4. Andreeva dominated the second set, breaking Ruse in the fourth and sixth games to secure a 6-4, 6-1 win in just over an hour. Her opponent in the final will be Anastasia Potapova, who is returning to the final for the first time since her debut win three years ago. Potapova defeated Donna Vekic 6-4, 6-2 in the semi-finals, taking an early lead before Vekic fought back. Potapova held her nerve to take the first set and then built a 4-0 lead in the second set to seal her victory. This will be the pair's fourth meeting, with Andreeva having won their last two encounters, although they have yet to play each other on clay.
