Thomas Partey Denies Two Fresh Rape Allegations
Ex-Arsenal footballer Thomas Partey has denied two new allegations of rape. The 32-year-old midfielder appeared in court on Monday to plead not guilty to the charges, which relate to an incident in London in December 2020. Partey had previously been charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, dating back to 2021 and 2022, to which he also pleaded not guilty. The new allegations were announced in February, and the court has decided to try all the charges together. However, this may cause a delay in the trial, which could now take place in January next year. In total, Partey has denied seven counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, relating to allegations from four different women. Partey, who now plays for Villarreal, is on bail and is expected to play for Ghana in the World Cup this summer. The case will be back in court for a pre-trial hearing on May 14, when a decision will be made on the trial date.
